Halflings, The Privash people

A group of primarily nomadic halflings who wander the lands of Northern Chandalvine and Golehest; the Primoun people are made up almost entirely of the descendants of the halflings who abandoned the city of Primoun shortly after the Divine War. Rather than settling in other lands or cities, the Privash chose to make the Lavash plains their home and they dwell throughout these hills and grasses to this day.

The Privash primarily worship the earth mother, Denev, and are said to be excellent trackers and foragers. They are noted for their brilliant green eyes and the beauty possessed by the females of the people; many nobles prize servants or chamber maids from this stock of halfling. Because of this, slavers have been known to abduct the females of the community siting the nomadic people’s penchant for crossing lands that belong to others and poaching crops from local nobles as crimes committed against the state. The halflings deny these charges, claiming to go out of their way to avoid human habitations or settled lands – they further claim that their dealings with farm folk are always on the level, giving fair trade in coin or barter for what they take. In cases when Privash slaves have been taken, the halfling folk have always sent rescue parties that have been successful for the most part in retrieving their enslaved kin. Many nobles and merchants consider them little better than renegades, poachers and thieves and a few land owners pay out bounties on live captives.

While there are no permanent Privash settlements, a few easily recognized landmarks have become gathering sites for their various clans. North of the ruins of Primoun in eastern Chandalvine and the formation known as Turtle Rock in Golehest are primary among these.
