For the Glory of the Black Dragon
- Castle Vashon
Castle Vashon, also know as Korlosten after the former King, Korlos, is a wonder to behold. The castle is a collection of soaring architectural designs and ostentatious appointments; it sprawls over a huge area with outbuildings, courtyards, gardens and parks that house many buildings of importance to government and the military.
the castle is said to boast a state of the art lighting system – a collection of sky-lights, lighting wells and windows with an array of movable mirrors assuring that the sun’s rays find their way into the castle’s interior at all hours of the day. The lighting system and other modern renovations to the castle were the work of King Korlos, perhaps it is one reason his son, Virduk, allowed the former king’s name to remain with the castle.
The castle boasts a staff of over one thousand people and citizens are welcome to come and go from the castle’s grounds and outer courtyards; the inner castle, however is surrounded by a deep moat (fed by an underground system of channles fed by lake Vashon) and is not accessible to any save those doing the business of the kingdom or the king.
